GED Test Information

The Simi Institute for Careers and Education is an official testing facility for GED®Testing Service. Upon passing the exam, test candidates will be issued a high school equivalency credential from the State of California.

Test Registration:

To register to take the GED® test on our campus, visit GED.com or call 1-877-EXAM-GED. Payment and test scheduling are done online; examinees only come to the adult school on their selected test date.

Test Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older (or within 60 days of 18th birthday)
  • Not a graduate of a U.S. high school
  • Candidates must be California residents with a valid driver's license, identification card, or government-issued passport.

Photo ID must be presented at time of testing. Acceptable forms of ID include a California driver's license, California ID, or passport with a current picture and proof of California residency. The identification must be current and must include name, birth date, picture, address, and signature. In the event that California residency cannot be verified with just one of the above, proof of residency must be provided by bringing an additional document in the form of a bank statement, utility bill or rental agreement.

Test Fees:

$140 full test (4 subject tests)

$35 individual subject test

The subject tests can be scheduled individually and it is not recommended that all 4 subject tests be taken on the same day. Visit GED.com for scheduling and test information.
