English as a Second Language (ESL)

ESL classes offer daily instruction in listening, speaking, reading and writing.  Based upon individual student goals and designed to meet students' language-learning needs, our highly qualified instructors will help you prepare for academic, career-technical and personal growth opportunities.  Our classes teach to all levels from beginning through advanced, and cover reading and writing skills, grammar, context and fluency.

ALL classes are FREE!

English Language Learner

Students of all levels are encouraged to join one of our 4-week summer classes (Beg. L/H, Int. L/H, Adv. L/H).  Practice English vocabulary, grammar, speaking and writing with fun activities and new friends.  Study materials will be provided.

ESL / Distance Learning Alternative

Can't come to a regularly scheduled class?  Want to continue studying English at home in addition to your other classes? Have a computer at home?  Join distance learning;  students are provided with course materials and online access to curriculum from home.  Students meet regularly with the teacher to monitor progress and receive support.

ESL Citizenship Bootcamp

4-week class.  Provides lawful permanent residents (green card holders) an overview of the Naturalization Exam, what to expect at the interview and details about the English and civics part of the test.  Students will receive study materials to keep and refer to while preparing the N-400 application and awaiting an interview.

ESL Skill Building Classes

The ESL Conversation and Pronunciation Class (Beg. - Int.) is a fun and engaging course designed to use general, academic, and workplace English to help students improve their confidence in a range of speaking situations.  The lessons are based on realistic conversations in America.  The class will focus on American speaking customs for better communication, listening and an emphasis on phonics to assist  accent reduction, pronunciation, and smoother conversations.

Class is FREE!

 

ESL Support / Computer Business Class provides language and computer skills support for ESL students who wish to join the Business & Computer Technology program.  Learn computer basics, Windows 10 and telephone techniques to help you get a job.

ESL Support/Basic Machine Shop Class

Students will receive hands-on training in how to use lathes, mills, hand tools and surface grinders.  Blueprint-reading and Machine Shop math are also covered.  This is the first step in getting a career in the manufacturing industry.

Prerequisites:  Intermediate Level in ESL - 210 or above CASAS test score.
