Please note

  • Preference for enrollment given to students currently enrolled.
  • Immunization records are required the first day of school
  • No siblings over 4 months allowed in any parenting class, except Family Class.

Multiples

Parents of twins and triplets must work extra days in the classroom. If a child comes two days a week the parent must participate one extra day a month. If a child comes three days or more a week the parents must participate two extra days a month.

About The Learning Garden

"Where Children and Parents Grow Together"

Parent education classes are designed to acquaint parents with characteristics common to the toddler or preschool child, including the various stages of physical and mental development, plus effective discipline techniques for each stage. Classes provide parents with a unique hands-on involvement with their children’s education in a supportive environment with age appropriate materials and activities. A parent participation preschool is offered for children from birth to age five.

PRograms

1-Day Program: Parent attends class with child.

2-Day Program: Parent attends one day a week, child attends both days.

3-Day Program: Parent attends one day a week, child attends three days a week. On parent’s attendance day, a discussion will be held in the classroom during school hours.

Birth to Two Years Old

Provides opportunities to learn practical application of developmental theory and to explore child rearing techniques with other parents in a supportive environment. 

2 Years to 3 Years Old

Parents participate with the child in a preschool environment. Parents discuss child development, discipline, eating, toilet learning, sleeping and additional areas of interest. The classes are filled with opportunities for children to build self-esteem, make decisions, problem solve, develop fine and gross motor skills, and to practice language and social skills. Children explore art, science, music, stories, creative and physical play. 

3.5 Years to 5 Years Old

These programs allow the parent and child to develop independence and competence through social interaction with other families. Parent discussion topics include application of child developmental theory, discipline techniques, self-esteem and the challenges of parenting. The classes are filled with opportunities for children to build self-esteem, make decisions, problem solve, develop fine and gross motor skills, and to practice language and social skills. Children will explore math, science, motor skills, art, music and language arts.
