Spring 2023 Program info

Simi Institute is proud to offer a fully comprehensive 6-month Welding program. One low fee covers all instructional hours, lab consumable gases and metals, up to four certification exams, and a full set of gears, tools, and books aligned with the students’ industry pathway of choice. All students will gain an understanding of the tools and techniques involved in welding as a trade and career. Students will complete training in safety around the tools and gases, basic technical print reading, welding symbols, and shop math. Students will also learn how to perform basic welding techniques using the Oxy-Acetylene and one of four industry pathways of their choice.

Course Fee: $2,800 per Industry Pathway.

Welding

New! industry pathways (6 month program)

welding for aerospace / automotive trades & careers

Students will learn the processes and develop the skills necessary to enter Aerospace and Automotive welding industries. This includes Gas Metal Arc Welding / Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on steel, chromoly, aluminum, stainless steel, iconel, and titanium. Students will also learn corresponding technical drawing and reading, math and project planning.

Welding for petrochemical / Pipefitting trades & Careers

Students will learn the processes and develop the skills necessary to enter Petrochemical and Pipefitting trades associated with welding industries. This includes Shielded Metal Arc Welding / Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on steel and stainless steel. Students will also learn corresponding technical drawing and reading, math and project planning.
